hong kong days 6 & 7 - zhuhai.

beware: this is a really long entry and it contains many photos! :p

on the last day before the visa thingy took effect, i really wanted to go Zhuhai cos i wanna save my China visa for further places. as for ting, after much, much consideration, she decided to go too! yay! so chris, ting and i went.. the trip to Zhuhai has been one of the most memorable events tat happened so far. haha. cos it's just so fun to be exploring a place where u havent heard much of (though chris was the one leading the way throughout.. of cos he had to! haha cos ting and i just cannot make it when it comes to directions.)

it was near 3pm when we found out tat the next ferry's at 3.30pm. we didnt wanna wait for the next one at 5.30pm so we rushed! at 3pm, we were at the wrong ferry terminal. we hadnt found out where's the right terminal. we hadnt changed our currency. we hadnt visited the washroom. we hadnt bought our ferry tickets.

but we made it in time! feeling so proud of ourselves! haha.

and then we arrived at Zhuhai! :D

this was after a heavy pour. umbrellas somehow arent tat helpful in HK and China. the rain here always seems so heavy! haha. after much walking, we asked a passer-by for directions. chris asked many, many qns! and i think the passer-by was charmed by him or sth cos she only spoke to him throughout and didnt even look at ting or me at all! haha. but she's still very nice to have ans all his qns la. so she kind of determined our itinerary for the 2 days.

the hotel was so heavenly nice! esp after having spent almost a week staying in hostel. the beds in the hotel were like 3x thicker than the ones we have in our hostel! blanket + comforter! big room! big bathroom! big mirrors! big windows with nice views! everything's just so 'wow' in comparison. and we finally had the tourist-ly feeling. haha.

cant help feeling excited abt everything. but chris couldnt understand our excitement.. haha.

after unloading our stuff, we were off to dinner + shopping!

and there's again dessert after dinner! sth really funny happened while taking pictures at the dessert place. the waitress initally took a pic cutting out chris. next she took a pic of us w/o our desserts. so we were like 'eh.... nvm.' haha.

wad's the usual caption tat ppl use when taking such pictures? 'yummy.' haha.

not a great place to shop cos they sell mainly imitation goods and the same stuff repeat like every 3 other shops.

nope the shopping bags arent mine. haha. i borrowed chris's shopping bags. he actually bought more stuff than me! behind us is the gateway to Macau. near huh.. it's really like how it was described to us, a 5min walk from Zhuhai.

we then went back to shower before we went to 酒吧街, which was quite an experience. though ting and chris were telling me how tat club would give me a wrong impression of how clubbing's like. haha. it was quite scary when we walked in cos of the crowd and the really loud music.

and then they said photo-taking is not allowed.

we had double shots on fire? or sth like tat.. haha no idea wad isit called cos everything was in Chinese! but the drinks were cool! they actually lighted the fire on the drink and u drink from the straw as quickly as poss. after awhile, each of us had another drink but mine tasted just like Coke, seriously. and so i stayed really sober throughout the nite, not even near high, unlike someone else! back in the hotel, ting was like banging on the toilet door just to get her contacts solution. and more. tsk tsk.. go ask her abt it. hahaha. she's gonna kill me for saying these.. mayb tmr morning i will wake up with scratches on me. haha. but she wasnt drunk, just abit high :p

i was okie. as for ting, not really. haha.

here's some entertainment. look at the backgrd. this picture totally tarnished my reputation ever since. now everyone is wary of my photography skills! makes me feel so stressed when helping others to take photos. haha. but i would still laugh whenever i see this pic.. haa.

back in the hotel, we all slept really well! though we slept for like only 4hrs, we felt so fresh the next morning. must be the comfy bed! haha.

inside the cab, they actually have these metal bars to protect the driver. we were on our way to see their statue of the Fisher girl (鱼女). it's like our Merlion.

chris asked, 'wad's with the rock photos?' hahaha.

we walked and walked and i got sunburnt! nice v-shaped burnts. haha.

after more walking in a duty-free shopping mall, we reached this park where we continued walking. haha.

and guess wad happened next? i fell down. haha. but fortunately not into the water. though only the 3 of us went to Zhuhai, everyone else somehow noes abt it soon :S

we took this air-suspension cable thing, which is sth like a flying fox, but it brings u to the other end instead of going down. the 1st 3 secs were scary.. the remaining like 7secs were pretty exciting! had a nice view of the park from the top!

when i reached the other end. smile of relief. haha.

then we went to this seafood restaurant opposite the park for lunch. there chris ordered the dishes while ting and i were not paying attention. and he actually ordered turtle soup, which made ting feel really disgusted. haha. we had pigeon meat too (think of the pigeons in Singapore. haha.)

after lunch, it was time to go for massage! we first checked out this 'massage centre' nearby, and after asking some qns, we deduced tat it is those kind tat are meant for men only. u get wad i mean? haha. no wonder the lady at the counter was giving us weird stares. we then went to another massage centre, which has branches all over Zhuhai. we tried their spa + full body massage. it was pretty exciting for ting and i cos tat was our 1st time getting a massage. we were so blur as to wad to do. the massage was painful for me cos of my sunburnt, but it was another interesting experience!

by the time we left the place, we only had abit of time left for shopping before we needa head back to HK. still, we were too late. economy class tickets were all sold out! so we had to take the super class seats. we just had to console ourselves tat we would get to enjoy the comfort.. haa. by the time we reached our hostel, it was alr 1+am. we were so so tired so u can predict wad happened during our 1st day of lesson the next day. haha.
